Regular price $339.99This Bulldog statue (whitewash) has striking features and is purely a decorative item. The dog's head is carved from Suar wood, which is a dense and stable tropical hardwood. Carvers with years of experience use locally-made carving chisels in a multitude of sizes and shapes to faithfully realize the character in the dog's face, and bring an ordinary piece of wood to life. The tools are kept razor sharp so as to produce a very crisp carving that requires little sanding or finessing before the finishing process starts. Multiple layers of glazes and lacquer, combined with skillful rubbing back to remove color, result in the aged and antiqued patina that adorns the Bulldog statue.
